Embassy of Sweden in Tbilisi encourages cooperation between Swedish and Georgian educational establishments and institutes.

Sweden is getting more and more attractive study destination every year. Since 2011 the numbers of international students in Sweden grew notably whereby most of them was non-EU citizens. According to UNESCO Institute for Statistics more than 20 000 international students study in Swedish universities and institutes.

Sweden is very international student-friendly country:

• English is totally enough for studying and everyday speech – almost everybody in Sweden is non-native English speaker
• Sweden is one of the most tolerant country in the world – national, cultural and religious differences will not be a barrier to communication with lecturers and other students 
• Supportive legislation – all students can legally work during their studies. After finishing their studies they can apply to extend their residence permit to look for work for up to six months 
• Sweden is one of the safest countries in the world according to Global Peace Index 2018 and among top-5 quality of life countries (The Economist Intelligence Unit)
