AUREL VLAICU UNIVERSITY OF ARAD

Aurel Vlaicu University of Arad has been built through our common efforts and has been transformed into a prestigious institution of higher education; it has always been based on a fundamental aspiration to achieve a local, prestigious university. Today, Aurel Vlaicu University of Arad disposes of an impressive material basis of over 45.900 square meters spread across various locations in addition to a highly professional academic staff.

Aurel Vlaicu University has developed new study programmes year after year by establishing new faculties which all meet the highest quality standards. For instance, the 2010/2011 academic year marks the establishment of the Faculty of Design as well as of the following study programmes: Psychology, Computer Sciences, Economics, Marketing, Fashion and Fashion Design.

Presently, the dynamics of study programmes demand, combined with our institutional capabilities, lead to 32 Bachelor study programmes, 23 Master study programmes and a PhD study programme in Orthodox Theology.

Scientific research is a fundamental dimension in higher education. During the 2008/2009 academic year the scientific research output has grown considerably in comparison with previous years. It is noteworthy that in 2008 AVU has submitted 9 international research projects and 7 national research projects; out of which it won 8 international projects and 5 national projects.
