Created by Université Clermont Auvergne and the city of Vichy in 1964, CAVILAM – Alliance Française is an internationally renowned reference centre in France for the teaching of the French language and the training of French teachers.
CAVILAM – Alliance Française welcomes students at the Pôle Universitaire et technologique de Vichy, an ensemble of 9 000m² dedicated to education. This exceptional technical equipment allows each student to work in the best conditions. The centre is at the heart of the city, in a green and peaceful setting. Vichy is an ideal city for discovering the French way of life in an authentic, picturesque region. It is a perfect starting point for excursions into Auvergne and throughout France. Vichy is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Yearly, CAVILAM – Alliance Française welcomes more than 4 000 international students and French teachers from all over the world, with more than 120 nationalities represented. More than 50 missions of training and expertise have been assured in the world, at the request of the Ministry of European and Foreign Affairs, foreign universities, Alliances Françaises or French cultural centres.
Its objective is to put pedagogical innovation at the centre of the class, considering the constraints and specificities of each particular teaching situations.
Since 2008, CAVILAM – Alliance Française has been awarded with the LABEL QUALITÉ FRANÇAIS LANGUE ETRANGERE, distributed by the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of National Education and the General Delegation to the French language and languages of France with the highest grades in the five evaluated sectors: welcoming, courses, teachers, school premises and organisation. Every four years, CAVILAM – Alliance Française is audited for the quality of its services.

To develop your French skills, for university, work, or daily life in France, you could join our Intensive Programme including 26 courses per week from Monday to Friday:
- 18 general French courses in level group,
- 8 language-themed workshops: grammar, civilisation, oral communication, DELF/DALF preparation according to the examination calendar,...
- Start on any Monday of the year, except for complete beginners, every first Monday of the month,
- Level test upon arrival,
- Certificate at the end of the stay stating your level,
- Possibility to take a DELF or DALF examination to certify by a diploma your level.
The stay lasts one week minimum. It can be as long as you wish, depending on your availability and objectives.
