Hong Kong Chu Hai College, a government-recognised private institution with a 77-year history, hosts the Ng Teng Fong‧Sino Group Belt and Road Research Institute. The institute specialises in studying and promoting the Belt and Road Initiative, a global development strategy by the Chinese government.

It offers two Master's programmes: the Master of Social Sciences in International Business Management for Belt and Road Countries (IBM) and the Master of Social Sciences in International Relations for Belt and Road Countries (IR). To date, over 180 students have graduated from the IR programme and 260 from the IBM programme.
The academic staff includes professors from diverse countries, including China (Hong Kong), Ukraine, Pakistan, Iran, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Lebanon, France, and Kenya.
