INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF MALAYA-WALES (IUMW)

The University of Wales and the University of Malaya have established the International University of Malaya-Wales (IUMW), which has been developed in response to a Malaysian Government initiative and recruited its first students in August 2013.

IUMW has been awarded its own degree awarding powers by the Malaysian authorities, and suitably-qualified students on certain programmes of study are able to apply to register for a dual award from the University of Wales.

The University of Wales is currently exiting from all of its provision and is in the process of merging with the University of Wales Trinity Saint David.

As part of the exit phase, it is proposed that the University of Wales’ partnership with the University of Malaya and IUMW transfer to the transformed University.
