Moscow State Linguistic University

Moscow State Linguistic University (MSLU) is one of Russia’s most dynamic and progressive higher educational institutions, one of the country’s top ten universities providing a classical education, and the leader in linguistic education. MSLU is a hub of educational, academic, and cultural activities which trains bachelors, masters, and specialists, who speak two foreign languages, in the following areas: Translation and Translation Studies, International Relations, Advertising and Public Relations, Journalism, Political Science, Sociology, Psychology, Theology, Economics, Law, Document and Archival Studies, Information Security, etc.

The university has over 10,000 students, postgraduate students, and interns from Russia and foreign countries, including CIS states.

Instruction is given in 35 languages.

Research is one of MSLU’s priorities, with over 75% of MSLU professors holding postgraduate degrees. More than 400 people specializing in 27 areas within 11 broader spheres attend the university’s graduate school. On average, over 200 monographs, textbooks, and study aids for Russian schools and universities are published at MSLU every year. MSLU academics have developed unique educational and research tools (e.g. Lingva, Glossa, Spektr 121, Signal-Inyaz, and Intonograph), which have been awarded many medals, prizes, and patents at national and international exhibitions.

The university supports a system of continuous education beginning at the high school level (linguistic lyceum) and continuing through the college years to further professional training, and offers bachelor’s programs (4 years) and master’s programs (2 years) in accordance with the Bologna Declaration.
