Perm State Agricultural Academy

The Pryanishnikov Perm State Agricultural Academy is one of a select group of specialist higher education institutions in Russia devoted solely to the study of agricultural aspects, starting from plant growing or livestock product processing to biotechnologies or software engineering. Founded in 1918 as a faculty of agriculture and forestry at the Perm State University it became independent Ural Agricultural Institute in 1930 and awarded full academy status in 1995.

The Academy is named after a famous scientist of agrochemistry D.N. Prianishnikov. Nowadays the Perm State Agricultural Academy is an innovative institution with an emphasis on education and research as a pathway to professional success.

Academy is dedicated to providing a world-class education for its 10,000 students. It offers affordable, nationally-recognized qualifications in higher and further education, with 9 faculties (including distance learning faculty) and lots of diverse courses (Bachelor courses: 27; Specialist courses: 2; Master courses: 17; PhD courses: 12). The Academy puts students at the heart of everything it does, providing excellent resources, very high standards of teaching and outstanding student support.

All our academic departments are highly active in the field of research. This not only benefits students undertaking research degrees, but also fosters an environment of discovery and innovation that benefits all students. Outstanding achievements of our researchers have made us a leader in theoretical and practical-based research and led to the development of a sustainable research culture. 

The Academy offers students a fantastic experience both on and off campus. The Student’s Union plays a key part in student life on campus, welcoming all students and supporting them through their time at the Academy, representing students at local and national level, supporting them in their studies and simply offering a place to socialize. The Student’s Union has a large number of societies, catering for most cultural, political, sporting, intellectual and social tastes. Students are encouraged to participate in activities outside the curricular commitments in order to broaden the educational base, to gain achievement in other fields, and to stimulate interest in a range of enjoyable activities. The extra curricular activities will not only give a chance to relax away from the studies but, more importantly, give time to socialize and make friends with students from other countries and cultures.
