Ruthin School boasts an esteemed reputation for excellence and consistently upholds its status as one of the United Kingdom's foremost private educational institutions. In accordance with the ISC league tables for the year 2023, we hold a distinguished position among the top 15 boarding schools.
Our establishment caters to students aged 11 to 18, strictly adhering to a comprehensive British curriculum that culminates in the acquisition of GCSE and A Level qualifications. The pedagogical approach is characterized by small-group instruction, typically comprising 9 to 15 students, facilitating the provision of thorough feedback and guidance throughout the instructional process.
Within the contexts of Forms 4 and 5, students are engaged with core subjects and a diverse spectrum of academic options, all in preparation for GSCE and iGSCE examinations. Additionally, we provide a tailored one-year GSCE program, meticulously crafted to cater to the unique requirements of our international students. In the Sixth Form, students are advised to select three A Levels from our extensive range of academic disciplines.
Ruthin School embraces a global perspective, fostering an environment that values diversity. Our student body comprises both local day students and individuals from more than 25 countries worldwide.
Every student is assigned to one of our Houses, which are composed of a mix of year groups. These Houses serve as focal points for internal competitions, sporting events, and other school activities. We actively encourage each member of our school community to participate in a wide range of competitions, including sports, arts, music, and academic pursuits, which span throughout the academic year.
