UNIVERSITY OF TARTU

University of Tartu is famous for its research-based education. On average, the university awards 100 PhD degrees and university researchers publish about 3,000 scientific articles annually. UT is in the TOP 1% of the world’s most cited universities and scientific institutions in the fields Clinical Medicine, Chemistry, Environment/Ecology, Plant and Animal Science, Geosciences, Social Sciences (general), Biology and Biochemistry and Engineering. A total of 32 UT scientists belong to the top 1% of most quoted scientists in the world.

The university is an active member of international associations such as the Utrecht Network, the Coimbra Group of Universities, and the Baltic Sea Region University Network. The university has 74 partnership agreements with universities around the world, over 800 Erasmus agreements and a connection to over 300 universities through ISEP network.

UT offers international degree, semester, and summer programmes with instruction in English, and each year attracts an increasing number of international students from around the world. Currently, there are 23 international study programmes available fully in English, including business administration, medicine and software engineering. Some of the university’s study programmes are truly unique, such as semiotics, philosophy, EU-Russia studies and wellness & spa management.
